Since Chris will be finishing all his classes in December and they don't hold a graduation ceremony then, he decided to walk with the August graduation. All of Chris' family plus my parents came to celebrate with us, and we had a great time!
Chris' family came into town on Tuesday night, and we got to hang out with them for a few extra days. We also got to (finally) meet Kassie's boyfriend, Blake, who we highly approve of! :-) My parents arrived Thursday night just in time for all the festivities on Friday.
The graduation ceremony was at 11 on Friday, so we had a relaxing morning and then headed over to the Marriott Center at about 10:15 to get Chris checked in and to get good seats. Chris looked super handsome in his cap and gown, and I was a very proud wifey!
The ceremony was short and sweet, and since the August graduation is much smaller than the main one in April, it didn't take too long to get through all the graduates either, which was great. We took a bunch of pictures afterwards and then headed home to change and then go out for a nice lunch with everyone.
It was fun to have time to visit and celebrate Chris. Friday night Chris had a softball game. Their team was short a few players, so Spencer and Blake filled in and played great! It was fun having them all play together.
After the game we had pizza and hung out at our house and then got packed and ready to leave the next morning.
Saturday morning we left with the Roundy gang to head back up to Washington for our cousin Mark's mission farewell on Sunday. My parents decided to spend a couple extra days in Salt Lake, so they brought us breakfast and helped us get the final things together before we headed off. The drive up seemed to go pretty quick and smooth. We took Mayzie with us, and she did great in her kennel in the back of the truck.
I'll cover the Washington trip in my next post since this one is already getting long. Even though it was a quick trip for everyone, we were so grateful to have both of our families here to celebrate Chris' graduation!
