Girls Weekend!

There were 6 of us girls that lived together/near each other on Condo Row during our college years and have stayed close.  Two live out of state, so we haven't all been together in a really long time.  We decided that we should all get together and go somewhere fun for a weekend.  So, several phone calls and hundreds of mass e-mails later, we decided to have a Girls Weekend getaway to Vegas! The title of the Facebook photo album documenting our trip is "Do we have anything to eat?"  And it is appropriately named!  We ate our way thru the weekend, laughing, talking and loving our time back together. 

We all met Thursday evening at my house and left from there.  Right before we left, Emily gave us all donuts to celebrate her bun in the oven! :-)  Yay!  That was definitely fun news to start the trip off with.  We'd planned on taking 2 cars down, but thanks to Emily's mother-in-law, we all got to ride together in this sweet minivan!

We stayed in St. George Thursday night and then continued to Vegas Friday morning.  Our first order of business was touring the Ethel M chocolate factory.  Then we did a little shopping at H&M, ate some delicious frozen yogurt, and then did more shopping at the outlet mall. By that time our room at the time-share was ready so we got settled in there, did some grocery shopping, and then relaxed for a bit.  We made dinner at the condo that night while we got ready to go see the Cirque du Soleil show "O" at the Bellagio.  It was fabulous!  I had never seen one of their shows before so I didn't know what to expect, but it was so amazing.

Saturday we walked the strip and saw some of the touristy sights, like the M&M store and the Coca Cola factory where you can try 16 different Coke drinks from all around the world.  Some were delicious, and others were disgusting.  It was fun to try them all.  We took a break in the middle to go swimming and cool off.  Then we headed back to the strip for dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe, watching the dancing fountains at the Bellagio, the volcano at the Mirage, and eating crepes at the Paris.

Sunday we found a local ward to attend, thanks to Jessi our expert direction and map guru, and then packed up and headed home.  We had so much fun and I'm hoping we are able to make this an annual tradition.  I'm so glad that we've been able to stay friends through all the changes life brings.  They're incredible people and I'm very lucky to have these wonderful girls in my life  Loves!
